The morning buzzed with excitement as Allie and her bridesmaids prepared for the big day. The talented Brittany Zalewski from LC Beauty Co brought her A-game, ensuring makeup that wasn't just about looking good, but feeling amazing too. Meanwhile, Chelsy, also from LC Beauty Co, worked her magic with hair, turning every strand into a statement of style and grace. The result? A bride who looked effortlessly radiant, ready to walk down the aisle.
The day began in the quaint yet elegantly charming farmhouse, setting the stage for the magic that was to unfold. Here, amidst rustic decor and beams of natural light, James and Allie prepared for their momentous day. It was a morning filled with anticipation, laughter, and a few heartfelt tears, as they stepped into their wedding attire, surrounded by love and support from their closest companions.

Venturing into the lush embrace of nature, James and Allie shared a moment of beautiful intimacy and connection. Surrounded by towering trees and the soft whispers of the wind in the clouds, they exchanged private vows to each other that spoke of eternal love and commitment, a personal moment that was deeply moving and immensely powerful.

The gown seemed as if it was made just for her, capturing Allie's essence with every detail. As for James, he found his custom wedding attire at Suitsupply, adding that perfect blend of elegance and style.

When Rain Creates Romance
We had just finished all of our portraits outside and as we stepped into the barn, as if on cue, the skies opened up and rained. It certainly did not to dampen the mood but only stood to enhance the romance of the occasion. The ceremony was seamlessly moved to the sheltered pavilion by the amazing staff at Owl’s Hoot Barn, where raindrops serenaded the guests who stayed dry under the huge patio pavilion. This unexpected twist only added to the magic of the day, proving that love shines brightest even under the cloudiest of skies.
As guests took their seats under the pavilion, they couldn't help but admire the floral arrangements by Litchfield & Greene Farm. The blooms added a burst of color and life to the setting, their beauty a testament to the florist's artistry and passion for nature. It was as if each petal and leaf was placed with love, enhancing the already picturesque venue.

Capturing the Energy right after the "I Do's"
The emotion after the ceremony was so palpable. I love taking time out right after the ceremony to capture the "just married" energy. I try to keep these post-ceremony shoots to 10 minutes or less so that my couples can join the majority of their Cocktail Hour. I WANT you to be AT your party as much as you do! For some ocuples, they want to do this directly after the ceremony and for some of them, they want to wait until the end of the Cocktail Hour so they can relax with their guest for a while.
Allie and James wanted to go right away and they really wanted to take some photos inside the Farmhouse. We made our way into the living room and I gave them plenty of space to just be together, allowing them to enjoy the sacredness of the moment. We then made our way around the house creating moody and modern portraits in great light. I am an absolute light junkie and when I see great light, I have to use it!
Cocktail Hour at Owl’s Hoot Barn Wedding

After our quick session in the house, with the rain giving us a breather, the cocktail hour was a buzz of excitement. Guests chatted, laughed, and probably debated the best strategies for avoiding soggy shoes! It was a lovely prelude to the evening's festivities, filled with the warmth of friends, family, and, of course, some top-notch cocktails. Cask and Rasher provided the catering that was both delectable and perfect for a casual Barn wedding in New York. Cask and Rasher, under the direction of Jocelyn Lane, is very familiar with Owl’s Hoot Barn and cater there quite often. They also do a fantastic bar set up complete with a neon green Beer Truck with taps on the side for easy pours all evening. Their ability to blend flavors and create dishes that were both comforting and exquisite set the tone for an evening of celebration and joy.

Under the rustic beams of Owl's Hoot Barn, guests were treated to a family style dinner that was filled with comfort food, passed from friend to family and second only to the amazing conversations. The evening was quickly filled with heartfelt toasts, laughter, and the kind of joy that only comes from shared celebrations.
Allie and James let me know that they wanted as many portraits as we could fit in to their day! So as soon as they were ready for break after dinner, we headed out into the back fields in the last light towards where their ceremony would have been if it hadn’t rained. They were so much fun to create with, showing me their full hearts and letting go to my process, and the result was romantic, connected and joyful.
And what would a celebration be without music to fuel the dance of love? The Wallpapers seized the night, playing all the tunes this crowd wanted to hear. The dance floor became the ideal place for the release of joy, uncontainable and free. Every footstep, every twirl, was full of life and community, and my camera was there to capture it all.

Sometimes the stars are out and sometimes it’s blue hour. Either way, it’s always so nice to take a moment to breathe, together, and reflect on how fast the day has gone, and what an incredible day it has been.
