CRYSTA + ANDREW

GLYNWOOD FARM WEDDING: A Unique Cold Spring Wedding Venue in NY

COLD SPRING WEDDING VENUE

City Love, Country Charm at Glynwood Farm Wedding

A Romantic Cold Spring Wedding Venue

Crysta and Andrew, a sweet couple from NYC, brought their urban sophistication to the rustic charm of Glynwood Cold Spring NY. Their engagement session, which involved strolling through their neighborhood, set the tone for their Glynwood wedding: effortlessly chic, deeply personal, and full of love.

As a New York wedding photographer, I've witnessed a myriad of beautiful moments, but Crysta and Andrew's September Glynwood wedding was truly one for the books. Imagine a day so perfect that even the clouds conspired to add drama and beauty to every photograph. It never rained but the sky had so much personality throughout the day, it was breathtaking.

My approach as a New York wedding photographer is always to be an observer, especially on a day filled with genuine emotions. Watching family dynamics unfold during the morning preparations gave me insights that guided my photography throughout the day. The heartfelt poems read during the ceremony only added to the emotional richness of the day.

The journey to Glynwood Farms is a story in itself – a meandering drive past working farms and ancient barns, leading to an imposing stone mansion that whispers tales of yesteryear. This venue is not just a backdrop for a Glynwood Farm wedding; it's a journey through the history of this land where time seems to stand still. Jeanne from HV Ceremonies took care of the wedding planning and her staff was on hand to help with anything and everything.

Studio One was on site to handle Hair and Makeup for the Bride. Her look was natural but elevated for the wedding day and her hair was incredible with big loose curls that lasted all night!

The Ivy Covered Walls of Glynwood Farms

The day began with a first look that looked like it was filmed on a movie set. Even the magical staircase Crysta walked down was right out of a storybook. Her Sarah Seven dress trailed perfectly behind her as she made her way to Andrew. Tucked away in a charming stone nook in the backyard of Glynwood Farms Estate House, with ivy growing on every wall, the moment Crysta and Andrew laid eyes on each other was nothing short of magical. There were definitely tears. And I think they cried too. If this beauty is what I can look forward to, I will absolutely be shooting more Glynwood weddings.

A First Look to Remember

Friends and Family Photos at Glynwood Farm Wedding Venue

It is always my goal to keep Wedding Party and Family Photos efficient, well thought out AHEAD of time, and light and fun. This should NOT be the most stressful part of the day. I never ever use the words "fake" or "pretend" and all the chaos and emotion you see are real! Always.

Before every wedding I chat with my couples about their families and those relationships so that when we arrive at this portion of the wedding day, I know what to look out for. Glynwood weddings already have a head start in the beauty department because everywhere I turned, I could make 2478 wedding photos. It was just stuning down by the lake and that was Crysta and Andrew’s first choice for Family Photos so as we finished out portraits, their family arrived right on time. This is by far the most beautiful wedding venue Cold Spring NY has to offer.

Outdoor Ceremony in the Round at Glynwood Wedding

The lush gardens surrounding the elegant, round ceremony space created beautiful setting for their ceremony. It was extra special because you could see a mountain in the distance where Crysta + Andrew got engaged. I love when sentimental elements present themselves without being planned. It was perfect weather for an afternoon ceremony outside. The air was crisp and there was a light breeze, and the sky was showing off. I don’t think there is abad place to take Glynwood photos during the ceremony but I wanted something truly epic and different for them, so I snuck away at the right time and climbed up to the roof deck to capture an overhead shot of their Glynwood wedding ceremony and I’m so happy I did. This Cold Spring wedding venue really has it all- history and charm, nature that is beyond gorgeous and a truly private luxury feeling experience.

Breathtaking Views of Bear Mountain

Rolling hills and mountain views

Glynwood Farm, with its living rooms that seamlessly connect indoor elegance to the exuberant outdoor cocktail hour garden and tented reception, was more than just a venue; it was a character in their love story. As the blue hour set in, the reception tent transformed into an ethereal space, lit up against the night sky, promising a night of laughter, dance, and joy. Guests enjoyed Cocktail Hour on the back lawn surrounded by lush gardens and taking in a view that they will remember for years to come. With live music and tasty snacks, conversation and cocktails, it was a perfect way to spend the afternoon.

Glynwood Farms Wedding Reception

Sail Cloth Tented Reception on the lawn:

Because of the threat of rain (which never happened!), the couple opted to put up a gorgeous sail cloth tent to protect their guests- just in case! This style of tent is so gorgeous that it doesn’t even feel like a disappointment. They added bistro lights for warmth and candles on all the tables.

The tables were beautifully set and adorned with flowers by Barn Flora. The neutral tones and blushes mixed with greenery brightened up a cloudy day. The guests experienced a menu made by Rhinecliff Event Catering and the gorgeous cake was they cut was made by Bella Sofia Sugar Crafts.

Last Light Portraits at Glynwood Farm Wedding:

Dramatic Clouds and Hilltop Moments

But the real showstopper was our sneak-away session before the party started. I led Crysta and Andrew to a gorgeous spot that I spied earlier in the day and they shared a romantic moment, dancing on a hill top with the most dramatic clouds painting the sky behind them. It was a moment of connection and a brief pause in the whirlwind of the day. We also found a gorgeous spot where they could see Bear Mountain in the distance and stopped for a few images. They got engaged at the top just two years prior and it holds a special place in their hearts.

Dance party at Glynwood Farm Wedding

I LOVE a good dance party! Cyrsta + Andrew’s guests danced the night away to the tunes of their wedding band, The Broadway Project by The Band Method. The singers were having so much fun in their sequined rompers, singing and dancing with the crowd. I love playing with the lighting that my couples choose for their receptions, the lighting that the band or Dj’s bring, the candles on the table- everything that’s there. When blue hour came, I stepped outside to capture the scene for them. The clouds added so much incredible depth to sky- it blew me away.

Crysta slipped away and changed into a second dress and her friends went crazy when she stepped back into the tent. The beauty of this Cold Spring wedding venue is just incredible. Whether you have your party under the stars with bistro lights strung through the trees or opt for a sail cloth tent, your wedding at Glynwood Farms is bound to be magical. This is by far the most beautiful wedding venue Cold Spring NY has to offer.
