catskill Mountain wedding - Onteora mountain house

Fall forest. Abandoned pool. Night photos.

Elegant Bride and groom walk through the forest along the edge of an abandoned pool hidden on the property of their Catskills wedding venue. The autumn leaves are a perfect reminder of why couples like to get married at Onteora mountain house in Ocotber.

The first time I documented a wedding at Onteora Mountain House it was in the middle of Spring, May I believe. It was unseasonably hot- around 100 degrees in the shade. For New York that's pretty drastic any time of the year so in May it's downright unheard of. I felt really bad for everyone who was trying to stay fancy and but just couldn't pull it off. However, this Autumn wedding at Onteora Mountain House had perfect weather! Downright stunning! I expect nothing less for an October wedding in the New York Catskills.

Kassey and John reached out to me two years before their wedding and I still remember our first conversation. Kassey described her vision to me all the way back then and when I arrived on her October wedding day I knew right away that she had nailed it.

The entire day was beautiful and stress free. They invited of  22 of their closest friends to be in their wedding party and they were all so fantastic! We had time before the ceremony and after to create some beautiful, romantic images. Towards the end of the reception the three of us snuck away for a night portrait with a gorgeous, big, starry sky view! I have been a Catskills NY wedding photographer for many years and they never disappoint. This amazing celebration at Onteora Mountain House will always have a special place with me- the families were amazing, the couple was adorable and the party was incredible.

Catskill Wedding Photographer loves documenting weddings at Onteora Mountain House in Autumn. The red leaves are a perfect backdrop for this BHLDN lace and tulle dress.
Gorgeous blue suede Anne Klein wedding shoes that matched the Bride's style 100%.
Kassey's mom put her veil on by the window and she glowed the entire time. You could tell that she was loving every minute of it.
I love pausing during a busy moment and looking for the details. For where the story is happening. The way the window light hit the tulle on this BHLDN wedding dress was stunning.
There are rarely moments of pause while the Bride gets ready but I am always there for the split second it takes to see them. Like this bride's hands as she holds up the layers of her wedding dress and puts on her shoes.
